Petty Theft. 19-Year-Old White Male, 5’9”. Perp is caught stealing mobile phones on in-store security cameras and is detained immediately. The Officer searches the suspect’s backpack and finds several cellular devices, which the suspect claims are his. The Officer attempts to ID the suspect, but the suspect has no wallet and will not disclose any personal information. The Officer calls in a colleague who may be able to identify the perp. He does so successfully, recognizing the perp from a previous incident in which phones were reported stolen. A thorough search is conducted by both officers as the perp finally agrees to cooperate with their line of questioning.
